Whether you're looking for a pumpkin for the front porch, a corn maze to wander, or a reason to put on a costume, there are several ways to make a fall afternoon of it. Start with these pumpkin patches outside Lamorinda, then keep a few local Halloween dates on your calendar.

Pumpkin patches worth the drive

This one-day pumpkin patch brings farm animals, local vendors, food trucks, and fall activities to Briones. Admission is free; pumpkins are available in limited quantities, and the farm encourages pre-orders.

When: Saturday, October 24, 2026, noon–5pm.

Where: 6140 Alhambra Valley Road, Briones.

For pumpkin shopping closer to home, Speer's Concord location sells pumpkins and lists bounce houses, giant slides, pony rides, water zorbs, and paintball among its attractions. Inflatable wristbands for children ages 2–12 cost $22 for one hour or $27 for two hours; limited all-day passes are $35. Other attractions have separate pricing.

When: Posted pumpkin-season hours are Monday–Thursday, 2–9pm; Friday, noon–9pm; and Saturday–Sunday, 9am–9pm. Check the location page before visiting.

Where: 1765 Galindo Street, Concord.

Pumpkin Harvest admission includes live music, a barnyard animal area, gardens, games, fall displays, and one pumpkin of any size from the patch. The farm also has a roadside produce stand. Antique Tractor Weekend on October 10–11 adds tractor displays and noon parades, included with Pumpkin Harvest admission.

When: September 26–November 1, daily, 9am–5pm. Entry closes at 4:30pm; the farm recommends arriving by 4pm.

Where: 4350 Sellers Avenue, Brentwood. The current FAQ lists admission at $16 on weekdays and $17 on weekends. Bring cash or checks; pets aren't allowed.

Three Nunns Farm, Brentwood

Another Brentwood option for a fall farm visit. The farm's current Fall Festival page lists daily operation from September 24 through November 1, with no reservations required and admission purchased on-site. Check the farm for current hours, activities, and prices before heading out.

Where: 550 Walnut Boulevard, Brentwood.

G & M Farms, Livermore

A pumpkin patch and corn maze with enough activities to make it an outing. Hayrides, pedal carts, and the cow train operate on weekends; jump pillows run Wednesday through Sunday. The haunted corn maze is scheduled for October 17 and 24 after dark.

When: October 2–31, 2026, closed Mondays and Tuesdays. Pumpkin patch hours are Wednesday–Friday, 3–7pm; Saturday, 10am–7pm; and Sunday, 10am–6pm. Saturday corn maze hours extend to 9pm.

Where: 487 East Airway Boulevard, Livermore. Parking is $5 per vehicle; pets aren't permitted. Check activity pricing before visiting.

On a family cattle ranch along Mines Road, Joan's combines pumpkin shopping with animal feeding, a maze, pumpkin bowling, a little train, and an Old West town. It also has picnic areas if you want to take your time.

When: October 2–31, 2026, Tuesday–Sunday, 10am–6pm, with activities closing at 5:30pm. The farm also opens Monday, October 12.

Where: 4351 Mines Road, Livermore. Admission is free, parking is $5 per car, and activities cost $5 each or $25 for an unlimited wristband. Bring cash or checks, a wagon if you have one, and closed-toe shoes.

Speer Family Farms, Alameda Point

For a pumpkin outing beside the Bay, Speer's Alameda patch offers pumpkins, giant slides, inflatables, a train, and a petting zoo. One admission covers the listed attractions, and children under 2 enter free.

Where: 2171 Monarch Street, Alameda. The Alameda location offers free parking and allows dogs. Check the farm directly for current opening hours and ticket prices.

Halloween close to home

Thursday, October 22: Trunk & Treat in Orinda

Orinda Parks & Recreation's third annual Trunk & Treat brings decorated vehicle trunks, costumes, and treats for children to the Orinda Library Parking Garage and Plaza, 26 Orinda Way. The event runs from 4:30 to 6:45pm.

Saturday, October 24: Witch Way to Mocktails in Lafayette

The Lafayette Chamber's retail calendar includes Witch Way to Mocktails on Saturday, October 24. Check the Chamber's event listing for the latest hours and participating locations before heading downtown.

Friday, October 30: Trick or Treat Street in Lafayette

From 4 to 6pm, children and their parents can trick-or-treat at participating downtown merchants along Mt. Diablo Boulevard from Lafayette Plaza to Dewing Avenue, Lafayette Circle, and La Fiesta Square. This is a free community event.

Friday, October 30: (not so) Haunted Hacienda in Moraga

Hacienda de las Flores hosts an evening of trunk-or-treating, food trucks, and a movie under the stars from 5 to 8:30pm. Pumpkin decorating and spooky swag are available for the first 100 children under 11, and Freaky Friday starts at 6:30pm. Bring blankets or lawn chairs, and come in costume.
