🚨 LOCAL COMMUNITY SPOTLIGHT
Registration is now open for Lamorinda CERT’s Fall 2026 training series, beginning September 15 at the Lafayette Community Center. The nine-week program includes eight evening classes and a four-hour skills exercise covering home preparedness, radio communications, fire safety, disaster medicine, light search and rescue, pet preparedness and more. Classes are open to people who live or work in Lamorinda, as well as Walnut Creek residents, for a $40 registration fee. Teenagers ages 14–17 may participate with a parent, guardian or Scout leader, and participants are asked to attend the full series and remain ready to help their community during a disaster.

Known as Casa Azul, this restored 1928 Mediterranean estate sits near the Orinda Country Club’s first fairway and includes an approximately 600-square-foot ballroom. The 2.3-acre grounds feature a pool, spa, sauna, pickleball court and outdoor kitchen, along with a separate 2,350-square-foot guest house built on the site of the original carriage house.
